What is the only play in football where 12 men are allowed on the field?

Hint: it’s a new rule.

is that correct or just a guess? In the past they've just used one of the players already there to hold the ball. Would the 12th guy be able to run down and tackle or would he be required to immediately run off the field?

They changed Oregon's rule. If you have 12 men, you cannot have a runoff if you are on defense. Now, the play stands, and the time goes to 2:00.

You were trying to say the Oregon thing was legal, which it was until just recently.

I think you're talking about the NFL rule.
