Which short NBA player had the better career, Muggsy Bogues or Spud Webb?

Muggsy was only 5”3 and played 14 seasons in the NBA. Spud Webb was 5”6 and played for 13 years. It’s amazing to me both players lasted for so long and thrived in the NBA, but who had the better all around career?

I couldn’t tell you.
But I have no idea how either guy was able to have the careers they had. A 5’3 munchkin made millions schooling NBA stars that average around 6’6.

Only one of them was in Space Jam. Muggsy is the obvious answer here.

spud won the dunk contest.

I can't call it. It speaks volumes to how good they both were that they played in the NBA at all, let alone for as long as they did.

It seems like Muggsy had more impact on his team but I don't remember Spudd being on TV as much when he played for the Kings. Muggsy was definitely more of a leader on the court.

Webb had some scoring Ability. Muggsey was like your typical backup PG from Those days with no scoring ability.

I know a girl, a hot girl, who banged spud. So I'll give him the nod.

Have to respect the both of them. You have to imagine they had numerous people laugh at them when they said they would make the NBA growing up.
They had a better more productive career than so many guys who were average NBA height.

Mugsy was shorter, but Spud had the shorter career…

Bourre,
Anyone who responds with an answer to your question did a google search before posting.

Both were incredible athletes and were highly skilled. Speed and quickness are underappreciated talents. Guys with true high end speed, that can handle the ball, have a place in the league..

Bogues played 2 more years; Webb scored about 2 points more a game, but Bogues had an extra half rebound (2.6) a game, more than 2 assists more a game, about half a steal a game more, and blocks are about a wash.
Bogues was better from the floor for his career, though Webb edges him in 3 point and FT shooting. At peak performance for a season, Bogues had 10.7 assists-- probably the high water mark for either of them in anything- but Bogues found a way to get 4.1 rebounds a game one year. And to the everlasting credit of peak Spud, he averaged a third of a block per game once.

Spud was my favorite back then, but looking back on it I would say Muggsy was probably better.

Not exactly on topic, but Muggsy’s high school teams between 81-83 were insane.
Muggsy went on to a decade plus career in the NBA.
David Wingate and Reggie Williams starred at Gtown and both won a natty there. Williams played ten years in the league and Wingate played 15.
Oh, and the sixth man on that team was Reggie Lewis who was becoming a star, unfortunately passing away too early.
