"Big Daddy" was pretty healthy back in the day

in the Bill James' Abstract he lists a 'heaviest player' for each decade. Cecil Fielder's description takes the cake w/ "Fielder acknowledges a weight of 261, leaving unanswered the question of what he might weigh if he put his other leg on the scale."
by decade up to the 90's
1870: Cap Anson at 227, although he was acknowledged as a big dude generally
1880: Roger Connor or Cap Anson
1890: Wilbert Robinson at 5' 8 1/2" at 215
1900: Heaviest listed is Ed Walker at 6' 5" and 242, but he describes a guy named Harry Lumley who bears a striking resemblance to Roger Ebert in period photographs
1910: Larry McLean
1920: Gob Buckeye at 6' 260lbs
1930: Jumbo Brown at 6' 4", 295
1940: Johnny Hutchings at 6' 2" 250
1950: Ted Kluszewski or Steve Bilko
1960: Frank Howard at 6' 7" 275
1970: Boog Powell at around 275 at the end of his career
1980: Joey Meyer at 260
1990: Cecil Fielder
Negro Leagues: Heavy Johnson or Tubby "Fat" Barnes
He's also got stuff for lightest, best looking and ugliest players, slowest player (the best is Piano Legs Hickman), the "OJ Simpson" award for players that committed murder, and other odds and ends during the decade summaries.

Since I have been a fan of college softball for a long time, I present some contenders from that sport...
1) Erica Beach, pitcher, Arizona State. This pic is of her pitching in a pro league.
2) Stephanie VanBrakle, pitcher, Alabama

Humorous, especially when you're ignoring actual muscle definition

This guy plays major league baseball at 6'4 and 300 lbs...

Boris Diaw is so out of shape it's embarrassing to watch him on television.

Why did Tubby Barnes need to have a nickname of "Fat"?
Is Tubby not descriptive enough?

Why are 99% of the baseball players in this thread from the 90's... I see very fee current ball players mentioned. People are hating on Prince and CC but showing pictures from 5-7 years ago of each player.
Baseball has some big dudes still but those types are moving to DH or pitching.
