Why can't we see local commercials on MLB.tv?

I wish we could see the local tv commercials on MLB.tv. It's so super awkward to have that screen that says commercial break in progress. Why can't they just show the whole feed?

why would they? 
the advertisers pay the tv stations to play their ads. they dont pay MLB. MLB owns the game and the streams of the games. thats it

and, if you actually watch through MLB.tv and not just a stream site, you will usually get some kind of ad for MLB during this point in time

I've often wondered this with a lot of streaming services, not from a consumer perspective but from a business one.
If you're watching watchedpn or foxsportsgo and they all have that generic message. Seems like they're leaving money on the table.
The ad money is too good to pass up, which makes me think there's a very good reason why they all do that.
