The biggest difference to me is the pitching and skill level in the field. College baseball tends to be more exciting because there is more action whether that is walks, hits, errors, steals etc. MLB they are just so damn good that the scoring opportunities, outside of home runs, are much more limited.

Only in places like Baton Rouge, Oxford, Fayetteville, and Starkville is this the case. That’s because none of us have a pro team in our state to root for, on top of college baseball being the best in the south

Because you, and others, have more of a rooting interest. That brings enthusiasm and excitement.

The different level of baseball isn’t nearly as important.

I would wager that the number of mlb fans outnumber the college fans 500-1. Statistically, NOBODY gives a blank about college baseball, and if LSU wasn't the "UCLA" of college baseball, nobody in BR would either.

Honestly, I prefer watching college softball to college baseball. I guess because NCAA baseball pales in comparison to MLB. If Bama is playing on the SECN, I'll watch. But that's about it.

College ball players suck at a talent point. There are sometimes a few anomalies out there but that is rare. MLB is superior to college in every aspect.

There isn’t a single thing about college baseball that is better than MLB and I love college baseball

Baseball is at best when you truly care about the team you’re rooting for. When every pitch counts. When you know about each player.

This and this absolutely rings truer for me with baseball than football or hoops.

The least enjoyable way for me to watch baseball is two teams I dont really care about and I try to get into the game.

This - I enjoy watching LSU post season baseball and the Cubs any time. I go to two series a year at Wrigley and I love every minute of those trips.

But to sit down and watch a random college or pro baseball game....I could not make it a half inning usually. And I do like baseball, it's just I have to have that rooting interest as you point out. Now I can watch football and to a lesser extent hoops if there is compelling matchup that does not feature my team. But I just can't with baseball. I think that is probably more the norm with most.

If there’s a baseball game on, I’ll watch it. Don’t care who’s involved

Really? Hey, I wish there were more of you cause I really do like baseball and more passionate fandom across loyalty lines would strengthen the game and make it better for all.

Lots of reasons

Such as? I know the players are better in professional baseball, the stadiums are better, the food at professional stadiums is way better. I cannot think of much better about college other than emotional investment in a team close by, but that exists on a far greater level in most major league cities. If I am in a major league city on a Tuesday in the summer I go out of my way to watch a game, regardless of the team or opponent. I’ve never done that for a college game other than LSU and MS State, even with them it depends on the opponent.

It's not. College baseball kind of sucks to be honest, especially if you live anywhere close to an A or above minor league team.
