I went a few years ago when it was in Dallas for the 1st round.
There was some fun stuff going on outside the stadium but the actual draft was boring as hell.

I would never travel for the draft, but did go when it came to Chicago several years back. Honestly, was surprisingly fun. There were plenty of bars, games, and each team had a tent of sorts for viewing and hanging out. Not sure the set-up in Detroit, or how it's changed for fans, but was fun when it was here.

Went to the Vegas one year before last. Don’t recommend. All that downtime in between picks that’s noticeable from home is extremely annoying in person. They need to shorten it to less than 2 hours but they won’t. I barely watched this year bc it’s just way too fricking long and drawn out.
