Will we ever see a barefooted or straight on kicker in the NFL again?

Watching the Eagles (Tony Franklin) Redskins (Mark Mosley and Steve Cox) made think of this.
Straight on I say no but barefoot I say maybe. Since "soccer style" kickers want as little between the point of contact and the ball.

Bae foot kicking is illegal now. Uniform violation

the whole reason we have soccer style is b/c they are more accurate than straight-on
that's the reason we have placekicking instead of drop kicks
so in a word... No.

No it's not the only requirement is the sock thing.

Soccer style kicks also create more power because you have to rotate your hips into the kick.
If more rugby players start transitioning to punters in college I'd be intrigued to see if the NFL followed. From what I understand it's easier to directional kick rugby style than it is the traditional way.

You understand that kickers like to feel the ball
So they want as little between the navicular and ball.

What? I didn't say Moseley or Cox were barefooted

As someone who has kicked a ball most of my life, anyone who chooses to kick barefoot over cleated is retarded or an attention whore

Yeah dude was insane watching in the 80's. It hurt to just see him standing in the snow barefoot, then the other team calls timeout...and after about 2 minutes he has to smack this football that's turned rock hard from the freezing cold.

I hope he had some weird form of frostbite where he felt nothing in his foot or some nerve damage that turned his foot into a painless weapon...because that shite was crazy.

Lol.
"Feel the ball" huh.
I kicked in college and there is no reason whatsoever not to use a kicking shoe. They grip better than skin.
And "feeling the ball" is so stupid. It's geometry

I guess both all American kickers we had and Tony Franklin are lying then?

Does anyone remember the Vince Manalla foot strap?
He was beaten out by Eddie Murray - who went on to be one of the best ever. Manalla did wind up punting for Tulane.

Probably not. The technology then vs now isn't even debatable.

No to both.
However, a guy that would kick straight on, bare-footed, would get my respect.
