Dude !! I wish I hadn't read your first line.
I didn't read anymore after it.

The fact that Spencer isn’t back until the end of Season 2 is horseshite.

Well, we'll either get a season three or Spencer kills everyone in episode 8.

This was exactly what I was hoping would not happen. Furthermore, Spencer an Alex will be separated for most of this season which sucks. Their chemistry is fantastic.

Yep, agreed. The two things I’ve been looking forward to the most was Spencer wrecking shite in Montana and him and Alex getting back together. The fact that neither is happening until the end makes me a lot less excited for the season.
The fact that it’s going to take Spencer 1.75 seasons to get to Montana (in a 2 season show) is beyond ridiculous.
Unless I’m mistaken and there is a season 3? If there is a season 3 (and Alex doesn’t die in the S2 finale) than I’m not as upset..

What are they thinking? Who is going to watch now?

Good point. Yellowstone is over and the ranch ultimately went to the Indians.

Well frick. Episode 8 better be like a movie and 2 hours long.

I'm finishing up my most recent watch of Season 1. Going right from S01E08 to the new season in 20 minutes. I am tempering my expectations for tonight's episode after how YS S05B started out.

That was a great way to start season 2. I don't like that they're wasting time on interracial marriage laws of 1923 Montana. There's one scene that's hard to watch but the other scenes in the ship are a good piece of writing.
I have no doubt after tonight's Alix revelation that she is bringing a royal flair to Montana. I do have an issue with Spencer being within sight of the US but the rest of his trip is taking 6 episodes. HOPEFULLY he makes it home sooner and then has to rush to save Alix on the east coast...explaining the Episode 7 blurb.

I was really pleased with the first episode. All of the main storylines were addressed and considering the episode was 55 minutes long to story moved well and didn't feel rushed or choppy.
Agree with the ship scenes. The one scene you're referring to was indeed tough but it ended the right way and I hope this fellow that Spencer has befriended goes with him to Montana to make a new life on the Dutton ranch.
I gotta tell, the fricking priest and those "lawmen" are true scum of the earth and make you ashamed of how people treated the native Americans.
There's a lot to unpack in that episode so I look forward to everyone's comments.
OP, I recommend you adjust the title to "1923 Season 2 discussion" or you'll get duplicated threads

First episode on point. Good start and will be a good season I believe. No spoilers.

This plot on the boat with Spencer is straight from Rich Man -Poor Man.
Posted on 2/23/25 at 7:19 pm to hogcard1964
I'm curious how Spencer has absolutely no money after being the famous Lion Killer of the Protectorate that was chauffeured around in Rollers.
Posted on 2/23/25 at 7:33 pm to BuckyCheese
Maybe it all sunk in the boat? I mean they didn’t have debit cards back then so I can see him quite literally carrying around cash, and you get in a boat wreck and bye bye
Posted on 2/23/25 at 8:18 pm to lsupride87
Yeah, where was he supposed to carry money during all of that? The only thing he kept was his clothes and the pistol. Maybe his actual money is in a bank somewhere.
