Screenrant is "confirming" there will on be 7 episodes of 1923.
You can easily have it all wrap up in a continuous 2 hours. Movies do so with less

I haven't seen anywhere where the finale is 2 hours long. That would be fine.

When is the 1923 Season 2 finale? 1923 Season 2 Episode 7 is the finale, Paramount+ confirms. It’s called “A Dream and a Memory,” and it will be close to two hours long in runtime. The finale comes out on Sunday, April 6, only on Paramount+.

Was it just to give them back then that they were going to shoot any Indian they see?
Only in Taylor Sheridan's world.

I’m kind of curious to see how much Alex gets herself into in that 2 hours. She may be still on a train for all we know.

Well that was unexpected.
Nah, it was going too well. I was waiting for something bad to happen.

Wasn't expecting the finger blasting either.

They went off in this episode….a lot of catching up

There's a lot to unpack in episode 6. I'll be including some spoilers to be forewarned.
I'm glad the Indian story came to it's apparent conclusion. All it needs is a little clean up and it's done.
TS needs some therapy with his torture porn. Way over the the top. We get it. Whitfield is a sick bastard.
Highly annoyed that the kind English couple met their fate. Alex finally catches a break with decent people and TS killed them.
Speaking of Alex, I read a plausible theory where the train Spencer is on will pass where Alex is stranded and she's rescued (or found dead). This is supported by a picture from the 1923 trailer where Spencer is running through the train car and looking out the window all you see is frozen open range:
I didn't see Jack being presumably killed. I think he is but Jacob survived being riddled with a Tommy Gun so who knows?

A whole season to get close to Montana. Least could have given the English couple a noble story arc.
If Alex knows the town why not call it so to get word out and say hey, help me. It's not the Stone Age.
TS needs an intervention with his unrealistic stories.

And what a stupid way too. Nobody would have dismissed the clerk so easily and would definitely pause before hitting the road.

The only good part of that episode is the Indian arc is over at least the hunt for her. But with TS I could see the Indian girl finding Alex stranded on her way and saves her by taking her to the closet train station which happens to be a station Spencer arrives in on the way.
The finale will probably be shootout in the train station.
Again TS should stick to writing 1 season series and be done. And no need for the narration at the end.

TS killed them so he can make his cameo and save her.

Jack can’t die unless Sheridan just wants to frick up his own story
Costner in Yellowstone talks about a story of how his grandfather lost his leg and always complained about the ghost pain in his toes
And Spencer can’t be the grandfather due to Costner being 5th generation as he says in Yellowstone
So congrats Sheridan, you suck dick

This is supported by a picture from the 1923 trailer where Spencer is running through the train car and looking out the window all you see is frozen open range:
While watching I noticed that it appears the road she is on is next to a railroad embankment, so was thinking that Spencer's train will come right by her. The way Sheridan has jumbled up Spencer's train journey, it's plausible.
The clerk at the gas station, in what seems to be Buffalo WY, told them to take the train from Sheridan. Sheridan WY, yes it's a real town and not just Taylor self aggrandizement, is about 40 miles north of Buffalo so they would have had plenty of gas to get there so they must have just ignored the warning and kept going. (The same railroad line goes through Buffalo as well, so traveling further was not necessary)
So, it is quite likely Alex flags down the train that just happens to have Spencer on it as I doubt she dies as well.
Also, Jack is the ultimate impulsive dumbass.
We know from the trailers there is a gun battle of sorts at the train station, with Jacob and Spencer both on the train, and a gun battle at the ranch as Cara is blasting away. I'm speculating that Jacob thinks about things a bit and goes east to get on the train to meet and warn Spencer instead of letting him walk into a shitshow on the train platform.

I came across a solid observation that Jack's badge will save him.

Jack's horse is going to walk back to the ranch, warning those guys that someone attacked him on the way to Livingston.
It's likely someone will go looking for him. If they find him, and he is alive somehow, they will know their livestock agents are actually double agents.
Jack being alive would be pretty ridiculous, but not out of the realm of possibility in a Sheridan production.

Well, Jacob, an 80 year old man, survived being lit up with a Tommy Gun. There is a precedent for unlikely survivals.

Like I said. It's a Sheridan production. Anything is possible.
Not plausible, but possible.
