Maybe I’m missing the obvious but Spencer told Whitfield that he killed his wife. How did Whitfield kill his wife?
Whitfield caused the mad dash home which started the long line of mishaps for Spencer and Alex.

Ok frick the 7 generations thing Kevin Costner directly said “I’m a 5th generation rancher” That’s kinda gospel right?
Damn son, it’s not that big of a deal to get pissed off about.

Yeah when she walked after shooting the innocent deputy marshal with the US Marshall sitting there was a bit of a problem. Especially after she started the shooting taking a long distance shot at the marshal.
The sniper rifle would have taken out the guy with the Tommy Gun.
Also the ranch had guys sitting by the gate all day, guys on the roof, etc. None seemed to have too much trouble with the cold.
But Alex, in a car with sweaters, scarves and a blanket was frost bitten after about day.
The only other thing was when the couple first hit the winter weather, he seemed concerned. Then they stop for gas at night in a blizzard and are so concerned they take on snow chains, but don't stop to think maybe they should wait a few hours for morning and regroup. Even today, people do dumb things like this, but it just seemed a little far-fetched.

The scenes involving Whitfield and the hookers were disturbingly sadistic. I think the first ten scenes made the point clear enough with the whole pleasure-and-pain dynamic — it was excessive and disgusting.
Honestly, I was hoping a hooker would be the one to kill him in the end, not Spencer.

I thought after Spencer shot him to wound him once or twice that the new hooker would grab a knife and go to town.

The moment she woke up and found the couple dead she should have striped them clean of gloves and everything to keep her warm.

The marshal clearly when she found the girl wanted her to go free but for whatever reason TS needed closure with the charges getting dropped.

She had the shot before he fired off the gun.
All these hired guys to kill the Duttons and none of them seemed like they had ever fired a gun.
And if Banner was true to his word why did he not warn them the two deputies were against them as well.

I bet all those missed shots would be more real life than your typical Hollywood gun fight.
I did notice a lot of reloading in the episode, so at least they didn’t give them all Walking Dead guns.

For the record, i think everyone is right. TS shite the bed rushing the finale, made some dumb plot points, had shoddy writing, and is sick in the head with the sex stuff. Aside from that, i was entertained and felt happy when Spencer laid eyes on Alex and picked her up. What we have been missing with them two not on screen together was their dialogue. I thought the actress playing Alex did a great job with her lines. It also felt good to see Spencer tear through those guys with the deputy saying "damn Spencer, i didn't even get to fire a shot." I was entertained.

How the hell does the ugly little Indian girl go free after murdering a deputy Marshall in front of 2 other law enforcement officers? I get Deborah Morgan wanted her to go free, but damn.

What I’m not clear on at this point, did the baby survive?
Spencer dies in 1969, he was devoted to Alex until the end of his life. I really liked her telling Spencer that it took him long enough to come to her.

Just started episode 1 of season 2 and my god the first 2 scenes are bad. That cgi mountain lion
and the weird sexual domination role playing shite with the old guy wtf
acting is trash for the most part.
This show is so disappointing. Should be so much better than it is.
I'll try and push through though.
What a terrible description

On episode 3 right now. Seems like you have TSDS

The Baby is John Dutton's dad. He was played by Dabney Coleman. ...briefly

These characters can be mind numbingly stupid
Spencer beating up his grateful host for no reason in the lobby
Jacob going out in the blizzard
Landman daughter slut, screaming not to get the rabies shot
Just fricking idiots this episode
And why was the chicken coop a car’s ride away from the house?
Some people have turned into these terrible tv critics in Los Angeles

quote:
Jacob going out in the blizzard
The judge said they couldn't stay in town. Do you even watch the show

quote:
Landman daughter slut, screaming not to get the rabies shot
She already lost her baby. You don't think she's afraid of sticking some unknown shot in her stomach

quote:
And why was the chicken coop a car’s ride away from the house?
What a ridiculous thing to even think about much less type
The only one that you could make an argument on is spencer getting into a fight with the bodyguard in the restaurant. I could see him doing that in a private area though.

Well, that was deeply unsatisfying. All that potential, and the show ends like that. I think Sheridan likes inflicting pain on his audience even more than he likes it on women.
Posted on 4/6/25 at 7:56 pm to DesScorp
Could have and should have been a 3 hr movie or a 3 part miniseries.
Posted on 4/6/25 at 8:29 pm to Dr Jan itor
Maybe Elizabeth did lose the baby already, but why did she walk back into the house?

quote:Exactly my first thought. His life obviously didn’t matter. I’m like you in the way I criticized the show. If they took out most of the unbelievable, all of the BDSM and all the Indian storyline, 1923 would be on par if not better than 1883.
The Indian broad kills a marshal, with another as a witness sitting right there in the courtroom, and she walks. frick off Sheridan.
I have to hand it to TS, he somehow managed to finish the series in a pretty solid double episode finale.

Somehow we all have yet to mention the most butt fricking retarded writing ever
Why in the holy hell was Alex in a rush to get to Montana? She wasn’t needed. Once she hooked up with the rich couple it makes zero sense for her to continue the journey while pregnant:
“Spence, I wrote this wire to let you know I’m pregnant so I’m going to stay with this rich couple in safety until you wire back it’s safe for me and the baby to come to you”
Voila

quote:Not me. I was hoping for Spencer and Jacob to give him a slow and painful death for all the calamity he’s caused their family. TS tortures everyone else in the show, but he gives the villain a fairly quick death. Wtf?
