It is a rock opera starring Paul Williams. It’s like a really bad version of “Rocky Horror Picture Show”, even though it came out the year before the RHPS movie, but RHPS was big at this time off Broadway.
Not exactly sure what I just watched.

Directed by Brain DePalma. I saw parts of the movie years ago. You're right, it was strange.
I think Paul Williams wrote all the music. He really was a talented guy.

I would love to know how much cocaine was consumed by the cast and crew of this movie during the pre-production & production of this movie.

I saw this movie when I was seven years old and it freaked me out mentally.

Don’t you mean a bad version of “Phantom of the Opera”?

I was 7 at the time and the commercials freaked me out. That and the commercials for Beyond the Door”. I was traumatized. I could have never watched it.

It's been played on Svengoolie a few times.
It's really bad.
