One of my favorite movies that never gets old

One of the best lines was in the opening:

On warm summer nights all through the neighborhood, you hear sounds of Italian men romancing their women….

“Hey Marie! Get in the fricking car!”

Jane still looks good!

I liked the fact that even though DeNiro was an established star by then, he kind of took a back seat to Chazz Palminteri in this one who was great as Sonny.

Few movie scenes were truer than this one. After seeing the movie, I began noticing for this in my own social life.

I always thought the same thing.

Loan a "friend" $20 and if he pays you back he's a friend, if not he's a POS and out of your life.

Palminteri wrote it and it is based on his life.

ETA, found this interesting: “Prior to partnering with De Niro, Palminteri rejected several offers for the film's rights, including some as high as $1 million, due to not being granted the roles of primary screenwriter and Sonny, the gangster Calogero meets.[4] De Niro met Palminteri's requirements on the condition that he be allowed to direct the film and play Lorenzo, Calogero's father, which Palminteri accepted”

Who down votes this? Great movie and a tidbit, DeNiro directed, his debut as a director.

Eddie Mush is played by the guy Chazz Palminteri based the character on.
