Taking my kids to see it tomorrow for matinee showing. Reviews on RT seem poor among critics so far so I bet it’s pretty good.

It's going to be terrible. But of course I'll have to watch it because I have a 7 year old.

This movie looks like garbage to an adult who doesn’t know or care about Minecraft.

That’s true of most kid movies though, that they are terrible, but kids like them. It doesn’t have to be that way. Pixar has done it spectacularly. Super Mario Bros was pretty good for an adult. Thing is I like playing Minecraft, I played it on a server with friends and even ran a modded TD gaming board server. This movie looks like they phoned it in using a half baked idea on the premise of Jack Black being Jack Black. Minecraft has had some decent stories from its games, but it chose to go a different route with the movie.

No one cares about critical reviews for a film like this. It is probably "meh", just statistically, but this movie will make gillions.

More importantly, it didn't cost a third of a billion dollars to get into cinemas. Assuming they're all in about $235m, this thing could turn a profit under $500m worldwide gross - AND - it will move merchandise and help this brand.

The folks at Disney could take a few notes, but they probably won't.

Who gives a shite about reviews for a kids movie

Going to see movies with kids is one of my favorite things to do, I'll go even if the movie is shite. I usually end up enjoying it more than I expect going in

I'll be seeing it sometime this weekend

Same, saw the poor reviews, but kiddo wants to see it, so we will....

The one I'm excited to see with him will be Stitch... It looks incredible.

Kids should love it even if it’s not a good movie.

They love Minecraft.
The love Kung fu Panda

I’d expect it to fare better than Snow White.

Saw it last night with my son and it was pretty hilarious. Mamoa’s character stole the show for me. Jack Black plays Jack Black, but it was pretty fun. I laughed quite a bit throughout.

My son(8) loves Minecraft. He thinks it looks stupid and points out everything wrong with it when the trailer pops up.

I couldn't care less about the movie, but I'm excited that my kid is excited to see it. It's fun for him. It's the first movie he's ever been excited to see. I'll go see it and have a good time watching him have a good time.
