Been a while since I've seen a better opening 20 minutes to a movie. Unreal.
A beautifully shot movie from beginning to end. John Krasinski definitely is a very good movie maker. Interested to see a lot more from him.
The actors really did a good job upping the intensity in the movie. Very well done. His wife especially. She has some chops.

One of the few movies I can remember where the sequel was better than the original

Wow really? Without Jim? I’ve been meaning to watch it but now I definitely will.

Is it streaming anywhere?

We watched it on a "movie website". Not sure about it streaming on a legit service.
Hooked up a 42 inch monitor and speaker system to my computer in my office. Have a love seat in there, wife and I watched it Saturday night.
Think we're doing the new Fast and Furious this weekend.

---------NOT REALLY SPOILERS-----------
The sequel has time jumps. So yeah, Jim is in it.

It just dropped on paramount plus. Gonna check it out myself.

Both of them are solid. Interested to see what twist Part 3 will take. Someone mentioned the possibility that perhaps these creatures are just "scouts" that were sent before the REAL ones come.
I also find Emily Blunt to be incredibly sexy, especially when she gets intense and that little vein on her forehead bulges.

Agreed. Loved the 2nd one and the opening scene reminded me of Red Dawn where shite hits the fan
Not seeing in a theater is criminal. The sound will win an Oscar

So which alien wins a fight. The White Spikes or the AQP aliens?

Yeah I just signed up for ParamountPlus thru Amazon Prime today solely to watch this
I thought it was gonna give me a free trial, but appears to have charged me…oh well, fine paying $6 to see this movie, been waiting on it
ETA: I think I figured out why I wasn’t eligible for free trial. A while back I signed up for free trial of CBS all access through Prime to watch the new Twilight zone…and then CBS became paramount, so I guess I’ve already used my free trial

TRUTH! Saw it in the theater this past weekend. I enjoyed this movie better than the 1st by a small margin.
My guess is those who are hating on this movie are the same folks who didn't hate on Independence day. I like both, but both are full of shat you have to suspend disbelief and just enjoy the show.
Between the 2, QP2 was a little more thoughtful, IMO.

A couple things bothering me already:
1. Why ever leave the farm in the first place? Even destroyed, still seems like a relatively safe/quiet place
2. What’s with all the bare feet?… you can wear shoes and still be quiet without bloody feet

And he knew to be quiet immediately???
During the initial attack?
Everyone would naturally be going apeshite like in War of the Worlds, running around, screaming...not playing hide and seek like some slasher is looking for you. These things are destroying whole blocks.

No not in the beginning…I’m talking about the family over a year later traveling barefoot
Oh n/m I see what you’re saying…an additional thing that’s bothering you

I wouldn't have been screaming, running yes..but, stay quiet and breathe to reserve your needed cardio

I'm just saying the sequel takes the knowledge they took awhile to learn in the first film about how these things operate and retroactively gives them that knowledge at the very beginning.
What's that about?
The opening and movie would've been better as just a straight-up prequel and origin story where nobody doesn't know anything...and its pure chaos until people start figuring things out and they show us how.
Didn't find it as compelling as the first because we're in the dark as an audience and second one loses that suspense and then its just another survive story.
