When Daniels first started talking about this a year ago, his idea was "an extension of the Universe, sort of like The Mandalorian is an extension of the Star Wars Universe".
So none of the same characters.
Obviously, I see no reason to do this at all. But if they are going to do it its better to do it without any of the characters imo.

best case scenario is this is another fake documentary style show set in a random office with good character work maybe a comically PC woke boss.
Greg Daniels knows comedy so that gives me some hope, but it’s a pretty tight rope to walk.

I think the comically woke boss in this day and age if done right could be very funny.
I just find it hard to believe they would go to the places they need to to make that work
