Holy Moly, poster-child for 80's flicks (forgot about this one - mostly because it sort of sucks)
But damn:
Vanity and Sharon Stone nude up (And Stone doesn't look like Stone in Basic Instinct, she looks a little rough like she was still hooking her way into roles.)
You have Apollo Creed who then fights Billy from Predator - so that's an origin story, Cop vs. Drug dealer become military compadres.
AND, Mac is in Action Jackson too as the police Chief of Carl Weathers.
So:
Dillon
Billy
Mac
From Predator are all in Action Jackson.
Then add in Robert Davi, who was in Predator 2. (And in Raw Deal with Arnold.) And was in Die Hard with De'voreaux White (Argyle) who was in Action Jackson.
This movie might've been the swan song for 80's cheese.
It feels like they were taking all the minor actors of 80's hit movies and have Carl Weathers as the lead and anticipate a hit.

I think Vanity was my first black girl crush.

And don't forget about Coach Hayden Fox!

I remember seeing it in the theater as a teen and then coming home and telling my dad how great it was

Well they tried to sell the shite out of it.
Lethal Weapon came out the year before.
And then once Stone became famous...she became the face of the movie and Carl Weathers and Vanity got pushed to the side.
Stone's in the movie for 10 minutes.

Don't you ever mention Action Jackson without also mentioning Craig T. Nelson and his explosive karate moves.

Knew a black dude last name Jackson when that movie came out, and of course we all called him Action Jackson. It took me 15 minutes to remember his real name.
