There's no way they find all those antiques and expensive chit all the damn time.
It's just as set up as the towing shows right?

I think they say that this is the case at the beginning of every show.

It's fake.
They recreate their best finds. No way that they follow these guys around for the entire year, taping every single locker.
They're showing you dramatizations of the high points of their entire careers.

yep...that's stated at the beginning of each episode.
Also they say they operate on an 80/20 rule. 80% of their profit comes from only 20% of their units. So way more than not they are buying duds.

I prefer the auction show on TruTV to this one, and the one on A&E is really good. Auction hunters comes off as really fake. The other two have wins, losses, and worthless bullshite lockers. When you watch Auction Hunters you know they're going to make off with thousand of dollars in pure profit. In the others you have no idea at all.

If the 80/20 rule is correct and they claim to want to double their money on each unit then I don't see how that' possible with 80% failures.

Each year, Allen Haff and Ton Jones dig through hundreds of unclaimed storage units hunting for discarded treasure. These are the stories of their most rare and valuable discoveries.
In other words... This isn't footage of their actual finds. This is a reenactment of a select few of their finds.
