Saw "Becoming Led Zeppelin" tonight in an IMAX theater. It was awesome! If you're a fan of Led Zeppelin you should see this very well done production. Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones narrate the story through sit down interviews. Additionally the producers included very rare interview narrations from John Bonham. It documents how the band got together and developed their fame in the United States. The IMAX experience was excellent with wonderful video and photographs from their concerts and recording sessions and the music was LOUD - the only way to listen to Led Zeppelin!

Yes great documentary
They are starting from very humble beginnings. Some slept in cars while having no place to go - I think it was Plant.
I think page and jones had their parents full support about going into music.
They worked their butts off and I think the biggest decision was they produced their own album and owned it abd then looked for a record label, but they didn’t want the music released as a single, it was album music.

I have tickets for next Sunday evening. Definitely looking forward to it. Then the Friday night after that I am going to see the tribute band Zoso, who do a pretty decent show.

I should have my Zeppelin fix sated for awhile after that week

I saw it tonight in IMAX.

1968 Robert Plant was on a whole other planet, vocally, from anyone who’s ever sung.

I saw it yesterday and it was very enjoyable and educational. They worked their asses off. Sure they were all brilliant and talented musicians but their work ethic and ambition really came through, especially Jimmy Page.

I have to admit, one thing that kind of aggravated me about Led Zeppelin were their live performances. Their live shows rarely matched the studio quality of their songs. But come to find out, as long as John Paul Jones and John Bonham kept the rhythm going Page and Plant improvised and made every song slightly different each show. Jimmy Page was always experimenting in real time.

This documentary basically covered Led Zeppelin 1 and 2. I hope the producers follow up with a second and possibly a third. There is certainly enough material for three documentaries. As Zeppelin matured John Paul Jones increasingly introduced more keyboard. I’d like to hear his commentary why.

We saw it Friday and I my only concern is it would just be a rehash of stuff I had seen for years. It turned out to be really well-made and enjoyable.

Then you have the munchkin Josh Kiszka with GVF who has a level of range and control to rival Plant. However, Plant is the the best frontman in all of rock history IMO.

I went to see it tonight at 7pm. Loved it.

It ends with Zeppelin II

Basically from their births til 1970

If you like them at all, you will enjoy this
