Any good recommendations? Not looking for documentaires, but acceptably accurate mainstream movies like J. Edgar, The Queen, etc. I'm in the mood .What you got?

Ray was extremely good
Patton? Not sure how accurate it was, but he was born to play that role.

Where to begin?
Citizen Kane (not on point, but such an awesome film and is, more or less a fictional biographical film based on real folks)
Patton
Capote
The Aviator (nice companion piece is to watch the made for TV, The Amazing Howard Hughes from 1977 with Tommy Lee Jones in the lead).
Ray
Raging Bull
Lawrence of Arabia
Rush (I thought it was damned good - even more so if you're a fan of open wheeled racing)
Bonnie and Clyde
Donnie Brasco
Man on the Moon
Last King of Scotland
American Sniper
The Elephant Man
Bird
Ed Wood
Casino
Goodfellas
American Gangster
That's just a quick list off the top of my head.

Agreed. Not quite as good as Ray (I thought it was about as good as Walk the Line, and better than Ali), but surprisingly good. If you're a fan of James Brown's music - obviously, it's a can't miss. If you don't like his music - well, it may not be for you.

Coal Miner's Daughter and Lawrence of Arabia are excellent. Let me add Out of Africa to the list.

the jerk

seriousness aside, given that historical does not equal biographical (schindler's list is not biographical), i'd think 'raging bull' would be the best biographical movie out there ...
