Not only is she a world class looker but Clark's wife in the Vacation films has amazing pipes. I watched Coal Miner's Daughter last night and I was floored when I read in the credits that she actually sang the songs in the film in her role as Patsy Cline. Here are two songs from the film. Enjoy:

One of the critiques of Jessica Lange's performance in Sweet Dreams was that D'Angelo had already nailed the character in Coal Miner's Daughter.
Check out her singing performance in the movie Hair as well.

Yeah, I read that. Not only that but isn't it true that Lange lip-synched as well? What were they thinking?

I love that movie.
You sound like a big ol' bar Doo.

Both D'Angelo and Spacek killed it in those roles. The ability to sing with their own voices takes the characters into a place where most actresses, including Lange(as much as I love her) could not go. D'Angelo was particularly amazing in that role. And add Tommy Lee Jones in the mix and you've got a fantastic film.

She was also the great Lurleen Lumpkin

Part of the charm of the Griswolds singing is that Chevy and Beverly are both serviceable musicians.
I mean, if Chevy were just a little better drummer, he might have ended up as the drummer for Steely Dan and we might never have heard of him outside of that.

I thought Reese was good in her role as June Carter...I mean, June Carter didn't really have a strong voice either.
Phoenix was pretty damn good as well.
Regardless of singing, both nailed the parts. A Top 3 biopic for me. Just a fun movie.

reknowned producer robert evans wrote an autobiography called "the the fat lady sang"...in it, he recounts his life and loves in hollywood.
he had this to say about beverly d'angelo
he had this to say about beverly d'angelo
quote:
A mutual friend, socialite Nikki Haskell, gave Evans D’Angelo’s number, and he called her from Paris. D’Angelo told him: “Let’s cut to the chase. No getting-to-know-you stuff. Saturday at noon I’m coming over .?.?. Don’t be a disappointment to me. Get a good night’s sleep on Friday. You’ll need it.”
quote:
Evans writes that he cut short his Paris trip to get back to his Beverly Hills mansion. Shortly after noon, a red rose arrived with a note from D’Angelo. Evans had been stood up.
But a week later, she invited him to visit her at the Beverly Prescott Hotel, where the actress, best known for the “National Lampoon’s Vacation” movies, was recuperating from knee surgery, with her leg in a cast. Evans didn’t get home until the next morning.
“What happened during those eight hours?” Evans writes. “I never thought so many firsts could happen in one night. Especially with a cripple!”

Don't forget Levon Helm. He adds authenticity to every movie he's in.

I know people like to hate on Chevy, but he is a fantastic musician. He is gifted with perfect pitch. He's a helluva pianist as well.

I was trying to be complimentary - Chevy was never going to make a living as a musician - but, as you say, he's gifted with perfect pitch, can carry at tune and is a multi-instrumentalist - not a lot of actors can say that.
