Big Timber on Netflix is a pretty good logging reality show

The logging stuff is cool, and the main guy also owns a lumber mill where they make some interesting custom items. One episode for example, there’s a sailing school nearby that needs to re-plank the deck on one of their boats, and they need 35 foot fir boards with no knots.
There’s quite a bit of drama in how they pick the right tree, get the right guy to cut it, process it and then deliver to the customer.
Some of the drama is pretty forced and goofy, and you can tell the producers told the guy exactly what to say. If you can get over that it’s a decent show to have on in the background, and the scenery is beautiful. Takes place on Vancouver Island, pretty landscapes and all the rain and weather add another wrinkle of danger to the logging stuff.

I watched the whole series last weekend. I thought it was entertaining. I'm wondering how their barge is gonna hold up once they load it up with trees.

Yeah that thing was pretty busted up. They seem to have a knack for making old shite work though, which was one of my favorite things about the show. I would have given up and bought a new one with a lot of the stuff they fixed.

Seeing trees get cut makes me sad

I watched it this past week. Did a bit of research on the main guy after watching and he's actually a huge proponent of logging with respect to the land. The show is entertaining
