Filming starts in March and the release date is somewhere in December 2023. Filming will take place between NYC and London.
Ernie Hudson, McKenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, and Paul Rudd have already been confirmed to return as well.

Movie went completely off the rails around the time they went to Wal Mart
It also completely ignored its own internal logic re: Gozer’s abilities/crossing the streams as compared to the original.

How so?
They crossed the streams in the original to get the door to swing the other way. Also crossed them to keep the demons from coming out of the hole in the new one.
Never said in the og that it could hurt Gozer, they just said don’t do it because it could be bad. When they found out it wouldn’t be bad then in theory they could cross the streams at will.

The first one just wasn't funny. It was more of an action kid movie. It's not terrible, and it's a masterpiece compared to 2016, but it's just not that good.
