Anyone check this show out? I binged the entire thing this past weekend. It was adapted from a book by the guy who did the Channel Zero series on SyFy. Supposedly, the entire show only covers about the first 20% of the book. So plenty of additional source material if they decide to make a second season.

The show is very much a mashup of Lynch and D. Cronenberg, and there were some really good performances, especially by the lead, Rosa Salazar and supporting character, Catherine Keener.

It also features (probably) the grossest sex scene I've seen in a movie/show

Any sort of synopsis? I've only watched the first two seasons of Channel Zero, but I loved the first one (second one was okay, but definitely a letdown)...I can't find the other seasons anywhere.

SEMI SPOILER..... SORT OF BUT NOT REALLY:

Im about 3 episodes in and I can honestly say I have no idea how to explain it except pube potions and a disgruntled screenwriter who gets their script/student film stolen by a big time producer or something. Someone may correct me on that as I was falling asleep when I first turned it on and need to rewatch. Its definitely not a recycled netlifx typical show.

I know I mentioned SPOILERS in the thread title, but here's a synopsis that doesn't really give anything away:

quote:

Lisa Nova, an aspiring film director in the sun-drenched but seamy world of 1990 Los Angeles, embarks on a mind-altering journey of supernatural revenge that gets nightmarishly out of control.

Basically, a young woman directs a movie short that everyone thinks is amazing, so she heads to LA to team up with a big producer to make it into a feature length film. Things don't really go as planned and she seeks the help of a mysterious person to get revenge on the people who have wronged her.

Saw the trailer for this yesterday.

It looks pretty fricked up.

It is. Probably the weirdest thing I've seen on Netflix.

We're nearly done with this "season." I'm still trying to decide if she's hot or not. Depends on the scene.

Agreed. She has strong Aubrey Plaza vibes in some scenes.

Yeah dude, she’s hot.

Show is bananas, always been a Keener fan.

Yeah she's hot and looks like this Cuban girl I used to date, especially her many facial expressions.

Overall, I really liked this show but I did feel the first 5 episodes were a fair bit better than the last three.

But the cinematography was outstanding and it did have that Lynch feel like OP said. I don't know if I would like the book bit I liked seeing most 9f this show visually.

It definitely has it's fair share of gag-porn though and I could have lived without that for sure.

Salazar and Keener were fantastic and so was the guy that played Lou Burke.

It was funny to see Jason from the Good Place in a more serious role.

I’m halfway through. I think I like it? I’m not 100% sure, though

I made it halfway into the second episode, then bailed.

It was awful.
