This is the trailer for the new television series from Starz. The pilot aired on February 25 and, I have to say, this looks VERY promising. I just love King Arthur stories...if they are done right.

Joseph Fiennes is playing Merlin and Eva Green is playing the evil Morgan.

I don't like the way it looks. I don't like the evil Merlin, either. After reading Jack Whyte's The Camulod Chronicles (9 books, beginning before Rome left Brittania and ending with Arthur's grave visited by Lancelot), I doubt any other Arthurian legend will even peak my interest.

I have seen the pilot and Merlin is most definitely not evil. He is ambitious, wants what is best for Britain, and blindly believes that Arthur is the man for the job. He's being set up to become Arthur's most trusted adviser.

I prefer the version where Merlin attends to Arthur's upbringing and introduces him to his destiny when he is of age. He trains him as a soldier, a man, and a ruler. Jack Whyte
