On of the best hours of television ever. Mesmerizing....terrifying.

It's terrifying because that's basically exactly what would happen if we had this technology.
Most every episode is disturbing and terrifying because:
1. On first watch you realize this is what would happen with this technology
2. Then with a little reflection you realize that it is already happening in some form with current technology, and it's just as much a commentary on current society as future society. (Hence black mirror- look at your tablet or phone with the power off, it's a black mirror)

I randomly watched this episode the other day. It is crazy to think about and would for sure cause very similar problems to what happened in the episode.

I thought for sure when it was showing him re-watching certain moments of her, before he removed his grain, that it was going to show her body somewhere.

That episode is so good, everyone should watch this show IMO.
BTW for people reading it you can just watch this episode without watching the prior 2 since every episode is 100% independent of the others. They don't share story lines or actors. After you watch this you WILL watch the rest of the series but I would suggest starting with this one.

Totally. I'd actually recommend starting w/ one of the episodes 2-5....not 1 or 6. Those are the least representative of the rest of them.

The only other one I watched was the one about the computer program that takes the personality of the dead ginger and that one was pretty lame

That was the best one imo. The ending was so freaky.

How was it freaky? The dude was living in the attic, woo?

Okay prick....
he's living in the attic. The daughter only gets to hang out with him on the weekends (supposedly). Right before the closing seen the female looks almost discouraged at her decision to keep this look alike of her late husband.

Okay so I didn't miss anything
It's just an extremely anticlimactic ending with no real repercussions
She might as well just kept a vibrator in the attic

FYI

In 2013 Robert Downey, Jr. optioned the episode "The Entire History of You" (written by Jesse Armstrong) to potentially be made into a film by Warner Bros. and his own production company, Team Downey.

100%. In pretty much all of the other Black Mirror threads I put together a guide of the order I would watch them in and its basically what you posted. Also, the Black Mirror Christmas special was very cool and I think everyone should watch that.

How did people read into the end of the episode? did he kill her or just leave her? did he make the right call to take the grain out of his head instead of just erasing the memories?
it felt like he killed her but i dont think he was the type of person to do that. perhaps thats what drove him to remove the grain in the end. if shes still alive and they ever saw each other, he would be plagued again by the memories.
as for the one about making an imitation of your deceased loved one: how could you not love that episode? i would go further into it but this thread isnt about that episode and i dont want to throw spoilers out there for it. but its extremely eerie of an idea and how we deal with grief.

I never got the impression that he killed her. Judging by the way the house looked. She took all of the furniture in the house with her.
I got the vibe that he removed the grain because he kept reviewing old events entirely too much. Like his wife's ex said "you end up jacking off to old flings" (I'm paraphrasing)

whats crazy is the episodes are nearly movie length to begin with. so they probably wouldnt have to tweak all that much if they didnt want to. just probably expand on whats already there.

Yeah I never once got the vibe thathe killed her
He was just going crazy replaying all the old events. We do this already except eventually our head loses the memory enough to fog it up and let us move past it

A buddy and I were discussing this episode last week. Immediately I thought about the number of relationships that would be ruined by this technology
