So Chuck is stuck on that island for 4 years. Comes back to Memphis only to find out Kelly has married his dentist, lives in a giant house and has a daughter who looks like she is about 2…. So that would mean that Kelly must have been seeing this guy within about 6 months of the “love of her life” going down in a plane crash???

She sucks

Yea Jack should’ve told the husband and the kid to kick rocks, seriously for what he went through he deserves to do whatever he wants

The only important change is Tennessee has an NFL team now. See how we eased that tension with pop culture references. Hahahaha who gives a shite. Go Titans and FedEx.

Oh, and Wilson volleyballs. But she went and married Dr. Spalding. Get it? Hahahaha this is totally a real film and not a commercial

Ehh she wasn't married to him. Tom might've been putting the pussy on a pedestal.

She liked being drilled so the dentist was the logical choice

She needed a new sugardaddy. Jack was making bank with Fedex and supporting KellyTime who was a student. With Jack gone, Kelly found someone else to pay the bills.

they weren't engaged right or just got engaged. 6 months isnt unreasonable. she may not have loved the dentist for a while.

What the frick do you expect her to do?

The dude was gone and presumed dead for four years and you expect someone not to swoop in?

Most people like Kelly would have moved on with their life.

Not at that clip though.

She moved on, dated, got married, & had a kid(s) all within 4 years. That's pretty fast movement, especially for someone that was SUPPOSED to be earning a PhD.

Take a deep breath and repeat after me.

Kid was 2 + 9 months to carry the baby. Still means she could have gone over a year before porking anybody. Maybe they didn't get married until after she got pregnant

The part that always bothered me was when she has the realization that "You're the love of my life!" in the rain with him. Okay, so he's the love of your life...we all agree. So take some time and figure things out. I think most people would understand if she decided to end things with the doc and go back to Chuck. It's not like they had broken up. She even said she had that hope that he was alive but everyone else made her move on...so she didn't even want to (although her actions show otherwise). So just divorce the doc and get back with the person you're supposed to be with.

Definitely always bothered me how far into her life she was when he came back. It's not like she was just married now. She was married plus a kid old enough to draw pictures. Plus ten months for pregnancy, plus wedding, plus engagement, plus dating. And that doesn't even take into account the grieving period. It's all very, very fast IMO.

Let's assume timelines (even relatively short ones:

Grieving period = 6 months
Date the doc = 6 months
Marriage = 6 months
Got pregnant = 1 month
Pregnancy = 10 months
Child age = 2+ years

Even assuming very short timelines (meeting, dating romantically, and marrying someone within one year seems pretty short, as does a 6 month grieving period). Also assuming they got pregnant the first month of trying is very short. And that still amounts to almost five and a half years, which is more than the four he was missing.

Sure, she could've waited a year to date and then immediately gotten pregnant upon dating the doc and had a shotgun marriage and whatnot, but it's not likely. I imagine Chuck had to be devastated that she had moved on, but I know I would have been absolutely destroyed emotionally if I had seen just how "moved on" she was.

Of all the movies, Cast Away always gets me at the end. It’s such a punch to the gut when he goes to visit her and she runs out in the rain.

I just don’t see how I could just drive away and live my life. And you know her relationship was never going to be the same with her current husband

Imagine what was going through the husbands mind when she told him Tom Hanks is alive lol. Oh shite

Well, call me a "realist".

With all the real life crap out there to deal with, figure out, overcome------who really gives a shite how long a character in a movie, and a silly one at that, took to get married after her former lover was pronounced dead.
