Just watched this Netflix original. Good cast and well acted by Antman. True story about a plan to kill Heisenberg.

“The Catcher Was a Spy” is based on the true story of Major Leaguer Moe Berg, who played for several professional baseball teams in the 1920s and '30s. However, the film takes some artistic license to create a compelling narrative.
Here are some key points about the blend of fact and fiction in “The Catcher Was a Spy”:
Moe Berg’s Life: Moe Berg was indeed a professional baseball player who later joined the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) during World War II as a covert operative1. His dual life as a baseball player and a spy is accurately portrayed.
Spying on Werner Heisenberg: The film focuses on Berg’s mission to spy on German theoretical physicist Werner Heisenberg. While the historical basis for this mission is true, the exact details of their interactions remain speculative. The scene between Berg and Heisenberg during their walk, which influenced Heisenberg’s fate, is fictionalized for dramatic effect2.
Poetic License: Director Ben Lewin acknowledges that historical films often take artistic liberties. He aimed to portray Moe Berg as an historical character, blending truth with a touch of myth and cinematic poetry. Some scenes, such as the one set in a synagogue, are pure poetic license2.
In summary, while “The Catcher Was a Spy” is rooted in real events, it creatively weaves fact and fiction to tell a captivating story. It’s a fascinating glimpse into the life of an enigmatic figure during a pivotal time in history.

Streamed the Paul Rudd 2018 version of Moe Berg's story somewhere and enjoyed it. It was nominated for an IFTA Award for Best Costume Design.
The Spy Behind Home Plate (2019) is another Berg movie the Ciesla Foundation put out. It won a Critics' Choice Documentary Award.

I read the book long ago. I didn’t know they made a movie out of it - I remember reading a while back George Clooney was interested in making a movie out of it.
