It's entertaining nostalgia but it's cheesy as frick.

This would usually bother me, but I’ve binged every season the day they come out and always kick myself for not holding out for a few days.

This will deliver the binge fix but also do it in doses over a few months, I can deal with that. This writing crew has been money so I feel like three mini arcs over the final season is going to be badass.

For a series many wouldn't have thought was even necessary, this is impressive.

I've opted out of watching, but for those who are, does it feel like the show is starting to jump the shark? Or is it staying strong.

Sort of like Stranger Things, I'm guessing. The kids are aging out, so to speak , and the series should have probably wrapped up by now.

Same with CK or nah?

This show snatches the shark out of the water and fricks it to death in the very first episode. It is completely meta and is made from the standpoint that it fully acknowledges how silly and cheesy the original trilogy is and leans as heavily as possible into that. And while that may not sound enticing, it absolutely works and makes the show completely enjoyable. It's also genuinely funny as well.

There are some things I don't like about it (the acting isn't great, and the kid actors almost universally suck). But the show itself is great. And what's cool about it is that you don't even really have to be a fan of the movies (or have seen them at all) for the show to be good and make sense (they do a great job with flashbacks to the movies). But if you liked the original movies at all I'd say give this a shot. In terms of a followup series 30 years later after an 80s trilogy of movies, it's fricking perfectly done.

the Daniel and Johnny characters are pretty much what I would picture them to be at this point in their lives.

This kids suck for the most part. Stingray is an awesome character but, he's not a kid.

Bringing back Chosen, Silver, Kreese and Ali makes the show that much better.

Peyton List isn't really sexy no matter how hard they try.

Her and the chick who plays Sam are 26 and 27 respectively. wait too much longer and they will be parents themselves.

I don't think she's unattractive, but man there is just something so off about her face. I think maybe it's asymmetrical or something like that.

Also, I forgot to post my gif of Daniel's wife that I post in every CK thread:

Yes, the actors are all getting older...and i actually think that could be a good pivot point for Cobra Kai. Remember, the main students are about all done with high school anyways...and with the Sekai Taikai coming up...it could be a huge opportunity for the show take a more adult oriented turn as they must prepare for the ultimate Karate tournament. I am pumped for this season!!!

If we were talking about her character on School Spirits, I might be inclined to agree with you, but she's trashy hot in Cobra Kai.

Well the writer strike was for 5 months so that set all the shows back at least that far.

The strike was a lot more impactful than that. Stuff stopped getting approved for domestic production in October of 22 in fears of the WGA strike. After the resolution of SAG and WGA strikes it has been hard to get anything going in the US because of fears of an IATSE strike, and the near certainty of a Teamsters strike.

There is hardly any production anywhere in the US, and it doesn't look like that will change in the next 6 months.
