I meant more in line with how the actual bending occurred.
It was clunky and looked weird. It needs to be streamlined for live action.
It needs to be more fluid like the show.
Well the reason for this is the dumb frick Shyamalan didn’t hire a martial arts coordinator for the movie opting in for long shots acting like he was Alfonso Cuaron. He thought since the kid who played Aang has a black belt in Taekwondo that that was good enough. Bitch, at his age I had a black belt in Taekwondo, no lie, which shows that the belt system is absolutely worthless. I’m definitive proof that the belt system is a fricking Ponzi scheme.
The animated series on the other hand had like five on the set each of which specialized in a different branch of martial arts and they live shot the bending techniques for the animators to draw over later. They even flew the martial arts coordinators over to South Korea to train the animators in martial arts so they’d get even better at drawing fights.
To make it all the more hilarious Mike and Bryan both heavily disdain the belt system seeing it as a joke, which the series does lampoon in those types of teachers being a bunch of greedy hacks.

The rumor is they’ve got the green light for 3 more series (Earth and Fire Avatar and another prequel series) and 6 movies. And with the movies apparently each one has the budget of hundreds of millions of dollars, will be 3D animated, and released in theaters. Mike and Bryan have said that this deal will take them around 20 years to complete. Hopefully they haven’t been wokified enough to ruin the universe.
Holy schnikes. Well this takes me into retirement… Can’t wait to get my 5-yo introduced to the original series and hooked in for this run of greatness (pending your last comment).

They say they have it all planned out too. They have claimed for years to have a massive Bible for the series that goes on for thousands of pages. They came up with pretty much the entire story of the original series within a week. With how well they did the Avatar origin story, I believe them.

I definitely expect Ozai to play a bigger role with Dae Kim in the part. But they do need to make sure they don’t pivot too much. Azula is the real villain.

Yep, but man this is coming off as the most well cast series since The Lord of the Rings.

EDIT: Also this is the apparent rumored Azula they’ve cast, and yet another dead ringer, Mai Nambu:
