So apparently Brie Larson is very pi$$ed at Ryan Reynolds.

She was supposed to have a cameo of some sort in the movie but it was cut out. So she thought that it would be in the directors cut that will come out later.

Well, apparently Ryan Reynolds told Disney not to even include her cameo in the directors cut. To scrap her completely.

If true, this is glorious. It was probably part of the “original negotiations” to green light this. It was probably worded “Brie Larson’s required involvement in scenes” so Reynolds recorded her scenes and shelved them.

Apparently this is all just a big rumor with no evidence to back it up.

Was it supposed to be a comedy?

This movie was truly bizarre just because of all the meta layers happening.

To fully “get” all the jokes you couldn’t have just seen the previous 2 Deadpool movies, you also had to have watched and have knowledge of

- X-men/Wolverine comics for several decades
- 20th Century Fox X-Men movies plots, characters
- How the the 20th Centurny Fox X-Men movies were perceived by the fan base and complaints
-20th Century Fox’s other super hero movies, including cancelled movies
- 20th Century fox and Disney negotiations and rights
- the Marvel MCU plots post end game including the tv shows
- fan base complaints about the MCU and plots post end game
-real life relationships (marriages/divorces, and previous roles from the actors

it’s almost absurd how much they squeezed in

I had to explain the Gambit / Tatum stuff to my wife at length because she really Pearl clutches about Cajun caricatures on screen. For someone that almost nothing offends her, she absolutely hates that stuff.

My wife has seen most comic book movies and gets most references in these DP movies, but I absolutely lost it when he walks into the bar and sees tiny Wolverine. She laughed because he looked funny but she had no idea that there was discourse with fans bitching that Hugh Jackman was too tall to play Wolverine. That was probably my favorite reference in the entire movie

The Chris Evans revealing he’s Johnny Storm and then when Wesley Snipes walked in got the biggest reactions in my theater

I laughed so hard at the Van Milder line

Great fun movie. Glad ii chose it to be back first time in a theater since covid.

It was mentioned in this thread they didn't like how Wolvie went on a bender and the Xmen died without his help. And I get some of that. But that loss was a good enough excuse for me how they tied him to wearing the suit.

I guess I'm the only one amused by alternate Cyclopses going from "what would you prefer, yellow spandex?" to BEGGING him to wear it. Lol

ETA: if you would have told 12 year old me reading Wizard:the guide to comic's "Movie casting wish list" section that we'd be here now, he'd think you were on drugs. Imagine his excitement when the poster on his wall of Todd McFarlane's cover of Incredible Hulk #340 was put on the big screen.

I don't know if the D&W movie "saves" the MCU. But if it helps it survive a bit longer, it has Ryan Reynolds and his comic fandom to thank.

Gambit

What was it he said to Wolverine before he threw the card and broke the Jim Beam bottle?

He called him a “cou-yon” which means crazy but I couldn’t make out the other words.

She Hulk was cut from movie.
Star of She Hulk says it would have been better to have Captain Marvel, Ms Marvel and her as the ones to help D and W rather than "pointless and irrelevant " fox characters .

Horrible take. The crowd went NUTS for Blade. Had it been She Hulk or Marvel at that point no one would have been talking about it.

Watched it last night. I was so pumped to see Gambit and Blade - I accidentally caught a spoiler on Gambit being in the movie. I woulda gone nuts in the theater if I hadn’t known. He was by far my favorite character from the 90s cartoon.

I want to watch again just for all the things I surely missed.

You're going to need to provide a link because I'm not seeing this anywhere

Only thing I found was a Reddit page that had a screen shot of a random Facebook post from an account called “anime grind” and basically just post a bunch of stuff as “REPORTEDLY” and does the thing where they reference something like it’s real but give no actual links or info. I’m sure they are super plugged in

To be honest I caught a couple of videos saying it. Went back just now and saw that one was the guy you mentioned. I'm a deeper dive I can't find any links in print that have Malsany's comment.
So it could all be fabricated.

Just got out, fun movie. The actual story itself was tired, but my god who writes the Deadpool one liners, had me laughing a lot.
Loved the Liefeld store front.

Went to see it this afternoon and LOVED it. Hit all of the nostalgic parts (I loved Jennifer Garner as Elektra again and the Channing Gamble).

The soundtrack was great too. Lots of fun action scenes. Did well weaving emotion in.

And props to Emma Corrin (Diana in The Crown) for Cassandra Nova. She played the villain well in this one.
