Eight seasons of Dexter available on Netflix starting today, June 19.
I happen to be doing my first watch of Dexter right now, I'm on Season 8. I started a couple of months ago when it popped up on my screen in... Netflix. I watched the first episode and I was hooked. But the next time I went into Netflix to watch the next episode, I couldn't see any trace of the show.
I finally figured out that when it popped up on my screen in Netflix, it was because I happened to be VPN'd into some other country at that moment. I checked Canada and it was available there, so I've been watching the show from Canada.
Unlike a lot of you, I am perfectly fine with every season. Lithgow was great. Colin Hanks? No problem for me, for the role that he was playing. Season 7? Yvonne Strahovski and titties at the strip club? What's not to like? Even Season 8 (so far), with Vogel pissing Dexter off, saying he can't possibly love his sister because psychopaths can't love other people.
The only character I think was super annoyingly written was Quinn.

Stop after season 4
The newest season was the dumbest of all

I thought 5, 6, and 7 were all pretty good. At least watchable.
I even thought 8 was fine until the very end. The very end makes GOT’s last season look great by comparison IMO.

Unpopular opinion but I think season 2 was the most fun of all the seasons. Felt like the noose was tightening around Dexter the whole time. 4 was the best written but 2 was my favorite.

I tried to watch Dexter. Watched a couple episodes and quit. Did it get better?

They killed off Doakes way too soon. Dude was intense as frick and made a great antagonist for Dexter.

It’s been over a decade. Spoilers no longer apply.

I don't mind the original 8.
New Blood was pure garbage.

watched a couple seasons and lost interest. the sister was awful. don't know if it was the writing or the actress or both. wanted to see her at the bottom of the bay,.
