Pull his weight?? I’m a huge fan, and I think Larry is perfect side comic. But in most shorts, when the fights start, he seems to be doing he weak link. His highlight was Pop Goes the Weasle.
Obligatory “How long you’ve had a weak back?? (Larry). Bout a week back

Larry Fine was the straw that stirred the drink.
The Stooges wouldn’t have been The Stooges without him.

Ron Asheton of The Stooges w/Larry Fine (c.1973)

I’d say Moe stirred the drink.

Porcupine is the best. His stick was so different that Moe or Curly that it works beautifully. When he shoots the toupee in Disorder in the Court it is legendary.

By the time that I was a teenager, Larry was my favorite Stooge. Some of his reactions/facial expressions were hilarious.

Growing up, Curly was my role model.

Pretty much universally said that Curly was the favorite Stooge for most people who watched those old shorts.
He died the same year I was born----1952 from complications from a stroke.

I’d like to say Curly is my favorite Stooge, but if I’m being honest I think it’s Moe.
He’s an impatient a-hole, and I just get that.

Same here.

Larry reinforced that Moe wasn't just picking on Curly, and that Curly wasn't just infuriating Moe.

Man, I love The Three Stooges. Each one of them pulled their weight and then some. Finally a thread on here about them.

I assume Shemp was no one's favorite.

As a kid: "JUST DON'T PISS OFF MOE!!"

I don't understand how a putative Stooges fan can even ask such a question. The Middle Stooge is the fan in the room. The glue that holds the entire thing together. Without Larry, it is just a violent, abusive psychopath beating up his brother.
Think a little before you post, my guy.

An appreciation of Shemp begins with understanding that he could’ve copied his brother Curley and did not. He placed himself above Curley and beneath Larry, making a position of his own.
If you see the “Curleys” that followed and don’t reconsider your dislike of Shemp. I don’t know what to tell you.

No. That would be Joe Besser.

For me, it was Joe Besser and Joe Derita being the least favorite of the stooges. Both of them came after the death of Shemp in 1955.
Joe Besser also had a stint on the old "Abbott & Costello Show" playing an oversized brat-like character called Stinky. He was annoying as hell in that part.
