Did Stu Macher die in the first Scream (1996) movie?

There's a theory that the new movie will have 2 killers and that Stu may be one of them with no link to the other killer. They're killing separately for some reason. The reason behind this theory is the "it's an honor" line from the new movie's trailer. Perhaps Ghostface isn't talking to Sydney as the trailer leads you to believe.
There's also another 2 lines,
"The attacks were all on people related to the original killers."
"Whatever his link is to our past, it's brought us all here."
The trailer also informs you they're back at Stu's house:
Scream (2022)
Scream (1996)
I've read a few youtube comments saying that Stu was supposed to come back in Scream 3, but Columbine happened and the entire plot changed.
Here's the new trailer if you haven't seen it, yet.
If you remember, Stu "died" via a tv being push over onto him.

Personally, I would love it as I've always kind of hoped Stu survived.
Having said that, him waiting all this time wouldn't really make sense. I feel like he would be kind of hell bent on revenge if alive. And even if he was biding his time. Why now? Why not during Scream 3 or 4? As much as I would love it, it also just wouldn't make a lot of sense unless they just disregarded all the other Screams outside of 1 and 2.

The first is one of my favorite movies ever. fricking love that thing, especially on a Friday night. Brings back a lot of nostalgia of ordering pizza, renting some videos. Just one of those movies that does it for me.
The second is a really, really solid sequel as well

I can't see any reason they would bring him back. Yes he's dead imo.

Is scream on any of the streaming services?

I also wouldn't be surprised. I always found it funny Stu said his mom and dad were going to be so mad at him. Then to think about their huge arse house.
Wouldn't be surprised if they were loaded and paid to keep his survival underwraps and maybe to keep him somewhere "safe"

We started it on the AMC app. So if you have a TV subscription….
Not sure about the others.

He was probably in prison.

Stu was the best character, so of course this would be awesome.

Well..being she has been through a few other films, and had his body not been around after the events of the 1st film..she would have assumed in the 2nd it was him.
Plus there would have been a manhunt on him..would be stupid to show he survived.

My guess is that a sibling or relative of Stu's is involved. They even make mention in the trailer of those related to the original victims are a heavy part of the story.

Whoever the killer is, they’re apparently killing the relatives of the original killers. Who could that be? If Stu survived, could that bring him out of hiding?

hiding

Or a mention of him living at least?

The opening scene leaked and is a callback to scream, with tara playing drew barrymore role. The killer has Tara's friend tied up and wants to play a game. If Tara answers the questions right, the friend lives. She gets the third question, who is Sydney Prescott's killer in stab based off of, wrong. Her answer was Billy Loomis. The killer says wrong, its actually Stu Macher

Sidney’s killer? I realize the question is about Stab The Movie, but don’t think even the Sidney proxy in the movie-within-a-movie dies.
You sure it wasn’t “Who was Casey’s killer?”
Also: Seems like a total head scratcher of a writing move. Why would the film reference be to something no real person has ever seen?
What made the question asked in the first movie so interesting “Who was the killer in the original Friday the 13th” is that Kevin Williamson was playing off of the phenomenon we now commonly call “the Mandela Effect” or false memory, which the audience, along with Casey (Drew Barrymore) is liable to fall victim to.

I may have gotten the question wrong, but the answer is what stuck out for me

He was supposed to be one of the killers in a Scream sequel but for whatever reason it never happened.

whoever the killer is, they have to be related to Stu somehow. why would they show up to his old house?
parents?
sibling?
offspring?

ow would he have survived. He was already bleeding out before he got the TV dropped on him. Plus, it's not like bodies can just get up and walk away without anyone noticing, whether it's from the crime scene or the morgue.
If anything, it's got to be his little sister or something.
