A friend of mine (AreJay on here) told me this morning that those two songs are the same, and I hadn't ever really noticed it before today but he is correct I think.

The dancing hamster thing was one of those internet sites where it was just a link to a flash thing or whatever, and it was just a bunch of pics of hamsters "dancing" to a weird song. Here is the original: LINK

And here is the whistling song from the rooster/narrator from Disney's Robin Hood (1973): LINK

Thoughts? Is it the same? Certainly seems so.

This is your random information thread for the day.

Ya damn right! Robin Hood was playing on Disney channel during the summer and I'd stop what I was doing to whistle this song every time the kids had it on.

Needless to say, my kids were horrified at their NerdFather's behavior.

One of the all time Disney classics. I can still recite just about every line of this movie. And the voice cast was outstanding.

It's certainly in my top 5 for Disney animated films. I've always loved this one.

LaCarte created an homage to her pet hamster, Hampton, featuring 392 animated hamster sprites doing different dances in August 1998. She paired the GIFs with a 9-second WAV file that contained a sped-up sample from the song “Whistle Stop” by Roger Miller, written for the 1973 Disney cartoon Robin Hood.
