You didn't think I could get it this time of year...
My wife found the sticker on Amazon and now it's on my kid's water bottle.

Ernest Scared Stupid is the funniest Ernest movie. I don’t care what anyone says. Ernest goes to Jail was worst. Of the four I saw that is.
1. Stupid
2. Christmas
3. Camp
4. Jail

Camp is easily #1. It's the best by far.
Scared Stupid is solid though. My five year old absolutely loves it.

Was just thinking I haven't seen a good dumb comedy in a while. I don’t think I've ever watched any of the Ernest movies. Gonna try to find them this weekend.

Filmed in East Nashville, right around where I used to live. Recognize many settings in the movie. One of my favs. I think its on youtube for free.

The wife of one of my preachers when I was in high school had gone to school her whole life with Jim Varney. She said he was the nicest and funniest guy (also extremely talented) that one could ever meet.

Camp is the best of the bunch for sure. SS is solid but a little more stupid (intentionally). I’ve seen Christmas and Jail too I think, and they both suck. So I gave up after that. I think there’s even one where he joins the NBA or some shite.

But Camp is legit good and was back when they tried to make a legit movie. And it hits the nostalgia vibe HARD for me too. My son loves Camp as well. Thankfully he’s liked a lot of the shite I did when I was a kid so far.

I think the paratrooper turtles puts camp at #1 alone

I bought an Ernest box set collection a few years ago and one of the dvds in it was a short documentary type showing some of the commercials he did for local businesses before he made movies. shite was hilarious.

"I'm scared, Sarge!"
"We're all scared, son!"
I loved the Ernest movies as a kid. Camp and Christmas were always my favorites. In my dumb kid brain, I thought Jim Varney lived somewhere in Louisiana because of the WBRZ commercials that he did.

Camp is #1 for me due to when it came out and my age (9). By the time Stupid came out, I was a teenager and didn't care for kids movies. I found it later in life when my kid was 8 and he absolutely loves it.
Camp is the best one though, objectively. It will make you laugh and cry. Excellent plots interwoven, excellent themes interwoven. It is a wholly better movie than any other Ernest production. Perfect recipe of campiness, sillyness, seriousness, humor, and drama.

Did he have a famous line in commercials? Kind of like Larry The Cable Guy’s “get er done” ?

I think his famous line is basically “Know what I mean?”
