Basically, yes.
Not to mention I don't get "girl boss" vibes from the trailer - I get a "fish out of water" vibe. The most "bad arse" thing she does in the trailer, other than showing bravery to go out into an apocalyptic wasteland, is stomping a rad roach - the thing you literally kill at the beginning of Fallouts 3 and 4 to learn how to play the game.

Well this is just wrong. There is an extremely large segment of game players that always picks females when given the option because they don't want to look at male backsides all game (I have quite a few friends that are that way).
Now I generally play male first and then play a female lead later in games like Fallout and Mass Effect, but to act like a large segment of the game playing public doesn't prefer female characters is just patently false.

If the game is in 3rd person, I play female; if first person, I play male.
That being said, if some of the guys here want to stare at a dude's arse for hours on end, I won't judge.

Legitimate non-access media people are raving about how close it is to the games in detail, tone, and humor.
