Fantasy Island Reboot TV Series

Being a fan of the OG version with Ricardo Montalbán I watched this (at my wife's request) with some trepidation and was pleasantly surprised. It was a direct continuation with the "Roarke Family" being the caretakers of the island and Roselyn Sanchez ((Still a Smokeshow) plays Elena Roarke as the new caretaker.
The Fantasies were good although I didn't care for the obligatory lesbian component that is in almost every new show.
If you're looking for a new TV show give it a shot.

it was a good movie for sure
i watched with much trepidation seeing the description of "fantasy turns into horror story for guests" but it was well done for the most part
i doubt i would watch it as a new series though, it would have to be too full of SJW BS to do that

I'm not talking about the 2020 film. I'm talking about the new TV Series reboot that had its pilot episode premier last night.

But does it have a midget yelling "the plane"? I'm really going to need that for me to tune in.

No midget in it.
The jury is still out for us, will give it another watch to see where it goes

I honestly thought that this was a thread about the reboot from the late 90s. So, they're rebooting another reboot? What a shocker.

One of the things I liked about the original series, especially in the first season, was the horror aspect fof the show. Fantasy Island wasn't a Disney them park. There were some guests who had pretty bad outcomes to their fantasies, and deserved it.
Mr. Roarke was like a supernatural judge who doled out reward or punishment to the guests, based on what they deserved.
In later episodes they toned that down and made him more of a benevolent being. Not nearly as interesting.

I still remember Roarke taking on Satan himself played by the great Roddy McDowell. You are quite right in your assessment. It wasn't the Love boat on and Island by any stretch.
