Wow! That's like watching a sequel to a movie you loved and having the actors fall back into their characters perfectly.

The scene where Willard steals Kilgore's surfboard and they have to hide the boat under some trees while he's flying overhead in a huey blaring the "give me back my surfbaord" is

Also the scene with playboy bunnies and the dead naked body in the freezer was pretty disturbing. Can't believe they left that out of the original cut. Was that the USO 'pimp' in the freezer?

Maybe it was a bit too long but since I haven't seen this in years and all those new scenes made it feel like a completely new movie.

Great stuff.

I agree. The redux version of the movie raises an already great film to a whole new level. If anyone liked the original, they should not miss the complete version. It made me see Coppola as a far greater filmmaker than I ever did before.

57 minutes longer than the original release and I hought i would be tedious. I was wrong.

And I think the body might have been the third bunny.

Exponentially. They wouldn't put the dude in the freezer, would they. And I get the feeling the other 2 weren't going to make it too long either.

when Willard first gets to Kurtz's camp the naked and dead American soldier hanging from the tree is the other assassin sent by the Army before Willard. the Colonel and Major (Harrison Ford) reference him early in the movie when Willard gets the assignment

It was nice to see the Stallone Cameo in Redux which was cut from the original. He was ok, but the british accent he tried wasn't really up to snuff.

I thought the other assassin was the guy that wrote the crazy letter Willard was reading (Sell the car! Sell the house! Sell the kids! I'm not coming back!) and who Willard recognized when they got to Kurtz' camp as one of his 'followers'.

Did they send 3 assassins?

yeah you are right, I saw that bit about the guy hanging on a blog. I looked it up and the guy you are talking about was named "Colby" and was played by Scott Glenn.

I am not sure who the American hanging from the tree is supposed to be

I like how on the redux cover they put -

starring
Marlon Brando
Martin Sheen
Laurence Fishburne
Dennis Hopper
Robert Duvall
and
Harrison Ford

Instead of the original cover with just Sheen, Brando, and Duvall because I know alot of people that didn't even realize that Harrison Ford and Laurence Fishburne were in this.

They actually show Scott Glenn's character during one of the scenes.
