All new story and cast.

quote:

PEOPLE has learned that a reboot of the beloved drama is in the early stages with writers Jason Katims, Pete Berg and Brian Grazer. Although it's not fully official just yet, it's slated to have a new cast still set in the world of high school football.

Fans have hoped for a revival of the drama for years since it came to an end in 2011 after five seasons. The original Friday Night Lights followed football players and their coach — starring the likes of Taylor Kitsch, Minka Kelly, Jesse Plemons, Michael B. Jordan, Zach Gilford, Aimee Teegarden, Connie Britton and Kyle Chandler — in a rural town in Texas as they navigated their lives on and off the field.

Anyway, here’s some pics of my personal favorite, Mrs. Coach.

They can’t go as hard as they go in that snow today.

We started a rewatch recently and holy shite it’s amazing what they used to put on network tv

I’ll be honest, I’m pretty pissed that they are going to ruin one of my favorite shows. Seasons 1, 3-5 is some of the best TV that has ever been made. It’s impossible to replicate the chemistry of Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton. While there were obvious plot holes (not including the abomination that was season two), the casting, characters, and setting were top notch.

How does this ruin the show for you? Ignore it and it will have absolutely zero effect on you

Can't think of anything besides knowing they'll get the ages right at the beginning so they won't end up having high school sophomore Tyra banging grown arse Mike Ross.

i wouldn't consider this as messing with the old show.

it's a completely different show. like how the movie and the tv show are 2 different things.

this won't be season 6 of friday night lights.

Voodoo Tatum:
I don’t like the food here, the music, the weather. I can definitely do without everybody going on and on about the great state of Texas. I’m here to get noticed, get recruited and get my arse to LSU. And you? You just trying to scrape by. Trying to win some games, keep your job. You and me are an arranged marriage. Nothing more. Now you seen what I can do. You wanna start Saracen you go right ahead.

Voodoo was right and Taylor didn't know how to coach him. Big Merri saw it when Taylor was at East with Vince and showed him the light.

Will be woke and shite compared to orginal movie and TV show.

They are incapable of capturing the charm of 80s, 90s and 00s TV shows.

This is just a dumb idea. They won't be able to do the show without fricking it up 3 ways to Sunday by shoehorning in a bunch of woke BS.

I call BS on this idea… Euphoria came out within the last 4 years.

If that can get on TV, anything can

Riggins was a senior in season 1 only to suddenly be retconned as a sophomore so they could keep him on the team. Wild shite

Yep. Made no sense at all with his character haha

But I was glad he stayed around in the show

Nowadays people would claim that ruined the show, but the point is to enjoy the show and riggins was a bunch of people's favorite character

Pretty sure Euphoria was an HBO thing and never on one of the networks. Friday Night Lights was NBC, right?

This is a stupid idea. Friday night lights is just an absolute fantastic show that managed to catch a bunch of luck with lesser known actors at the time who were all really good and some even went on to be massive Hollywood stars. The show also had some of the hottest women all assembled together that no show today will ever replicate. Minka Kelly, whoever the girl that played Julie, Tyra; Connie Britton, etc etc.

It was a show that took itself and it’s premise seriously despite some goofy plot holes and retcons. It had an unapologetically tone of men and men’s way of going about the world. Most of the women in the show are always reacting to that, as reality is and should be despite what you want to believe. It had some proto woke stuff like Julie in season 2 going psycho mode outta no where because women should be sluts? I guess. But the difference between that and all the slop today is the intention behind it. It wasn’t an intentionally subversive show.

Remake will be total garbage
