Everything seems to agree it's a good movie, it's just not selling tickets.

A second Furiosa movie isn’t going to draw a lot of people regardless of whether the movie is good or not. The Mad Max crowd isn’t going to see it and there is no Furiosa crowd. The bait and switch stuff isn’t fooling anyone anymore.

I didn't go see because it was a "Furiosa" movie i went because it was a George Miller movie who i have total faith in and he delivered yet again.

Not knocking the movie, by all accounts it’s a good flick. But it isn’t doing well at the box office and that’s why. The Fall Guy is another example, perfectly good action comedy that bombed because it has no fan base and people don’t just go to the movies anymore unless it’s an event style release with a built in fanbase that trusts the studio.

Right, but that’s not the majority. Fury Road wasn’t even a massive draw. It made money definitely, but this has always been very much a niche universe targeted at males. The new generation isn’t going to sit through 2.5 hours of a character they don’t know in a universe they don’t know with actors they don’t care much about. Theres an old director they don’t know. Women don’t give a shite about it. Kids won’t see it. This movie has everything going against it. It’s that movie you swear to your friends how great it is and they respond “Yeah, nah I’m good lol”

None of this affects the quality of the movie. But it definitely affects the bottom line.

Mad Max saga has a fan base. blaming the poor performance on a female lead is just wrong in this instance.

Saw it the other night. I couldn't imagine someone who liked Fury Road not liking this one.

I watched it the night it premiered, and there may have been 10 people in my theater.

I just watched it. I thought it was decent, not as good as Fury Road. Had some cool moments though.

I thought it was a pretty good movie. Just below Fury Road. Furiosa was a believable character. I think the movie should have been shortened a little bit.
Miller is great at the intricate details. Puts way more thought then almost anyone in the business
3.5 star movie

This is a great summation of why I didnt care. Grew up on Mad Max in the 80s. Watched Fury Road and thought it was pretty damn good. Heard about this movie and didnt even know who the character was. Someone said it was Charlize Therons character from Fury Road. I replied I assumed it would be about Max...I didnt care after that. People have been beat over the head with DEI casting so much that anytime an established story injects anyone other than someone from the original story we just dont care. See Marvel, Star Wars, Disney, etc. The days of judging something based on merit are over for a large chunk of the audience because Hollywood has shite on so many IPs not for merit but for quotas. The results of the final product have been abyssmal. frick em.

so you watched Fury Road... then hear "hey there's a new mad max movie called FURIOSA A Mad Max Saga" and didn't know who the character was? Maybe you're the problem mate not Hollywood or anyone else.

Fury Road came out 9 years ago. I watched it once 9 years ago. I didn"t take notes to review a decade later in case a sequel of a side char was announnced.

Same. Good watch. Some good and interesting things. Few parts kinda dragged but not bad.

She was basically a co-lead role in the story and quite a memorable performance really. So yeah ,you must just have a bad memory.

I agree with those who are saying that it's not as good as Fury Road but still very much worth seeing.

The trailer made me a little nervous. I thought it might be a little too silly and have mediocre visuals. But I trusted George Miller and was not disappointed.
