It looks genuinely creepy, but it also looks like it could turn into a Madea movie/Key and Peele sketch very quickly

I totally agree
I think it is all about tone.
This idea could have very quickly gone towards funny (and obviously the guy with the lacrosse stick is hilarious)

They were on the BS podcast awhile back and peele talked extensively about how his first love was horror films. They turned me onto the Badadook and it follows; loved both of those so i will check this out.

I'm not sure what I just watched. Is it a horror film with comedic elements? I kinda got a Stepford Wives vibe from some of the scenes.
