This is a damn good movie. Came out in 2017, and got lost in the shuffle of work MM was banging out.
This movie showcases his vulnerabilities and acting skills as much as if not more than Dallas Buyers Club. The story is fun and adventurous, the scenery is beautiful and excellent in the jungles and the city, the film has a nice hustling pace. MM and Edgar Ramirez have great chemistry as well, sort of similar to Woody in other buddy roles with Matthew.
If you haven’t seen it, it’s damn well worth a watch.

He got absolutely lost in the character of Kenny Wells. Obviously certain amounts of every role that McConaughey does will just be his natural charisma, but in this role that natural element played extremely well with his gold prospector energy.
And I feel as though the Craig Nelson part as his dad was a tribute to his real life father Big Jim.

Where is it currently streaming?
I’ve been meaning to watch this since I saw the trailer in 2017…. lol but just like you said, lost in the shuffle.
