TVLine has learned exclusively that the premium cabler is developing a new iteration of the vampire drama, with Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa attached as exec producer. Aguirre-Sacasa is also expected to co-write the pilot with Jami O’Brien, who most recently served as creator of AMC’s supernatural thriller NOS4A2. O’Brien would also be an EP.

Additionally, Alan Ball — who created the original True Blood for HBO in 2008, and remained its showrunner for five of its seven seasons — is poised to return as an exec producer.

Noooooooo. Honestly, that show was wild at times, but the books were awful, so I'm not sure wat a "reboot" would look like anyway.

SOOOOOOOKIEEEEE.

I hate how fast and loose people have become w/the word reboot to the point that it can now mean either a full on remake or a continuation w/new characters mixed in w/the old cast.

If they are continuing the story with the original cast I'm interested.

If they are just redoing everything after it ended only 6 years ago.... yeah.... that's dumb as frick.

Both of these can be meanings of "reboot". They're rebooting something either way.

Loved season 1. Was about to watch season 2 but Roku dropped the HBO app.

Why?

I liked the original. It was a bit out there at times, but it wrapped up nicely. There's no need to reboot anything.

Revisit that world with different characters? Maybe, I guess that could make sense. But no one needs or asked for another Sookie. She was fine the way she was.

The first few seasons were awesome. Insanely out there, but awesome. They killed Godric way too early. He was made out to be this all powerful vampire and then bam, goodbye.

I even forgot about Godric! Damn, he did exit the story way too early. So much they could have done.

Impossible to redo without Nelsan Ellis IMO.

I loved the campy roller coaster of the last few seasons for the most part.

Maybe the most controversial opinion I have in history is that I thought the redhead who played Bill's "daughter" was not hot. She was the most fricking annoying character in the show too, just edging out Tara.

The redhead was a smoke show. What are you talking about man?

Tragic about Ellis. Great character. RIP Lafayette.

And Jessica is a smoke show. That's simply how it is. If she was ' annoying ', it's because the writers made her character that way and she played the part. That's just her doing her job.

I expect every character to be transgender lesbians of color

Considering how "progressive" True Blood was, for it's day. . .the reboot is gonna be crazy woke
