Thankfully the original is back, even though I enjoyed the in season with the Dolphins last season more than the preseason with the Jets. HBO can keep that mess of an off-season Hard Knocks, even approving what goes out the Giants still look like assholes in those episodes.

I enjoyed it.

Training camp hard knocks are played out. It's the same shite every year.

I really liked it. Thought it was pretty cool seeing how they handled the trade deadline and contract negotiations. Thought the best part was seeing the interviews with the draft prospects. They were absolutely grilling the QB's. Was cool seeing that almost everybody on the staff wanted Nabers over MH Jr. I've never liked Dabol but I thought he came off as pretty cool actually and a pretty smart offensive mind.

If there was anybody that ever thought the movie Draft Day was even semi realistic, this should probably shut that down. It was as calm as could be in that draft room.

Saquon Barkley didn't know his phone calls with the GM were being recorded at the time. He might have signed off on it being aired, but that just seems shady to me. It just seems like a player could say something crazy, not knowing a camera crew is recording everything. Why would NFL players trust the NFL and HBO when it comes to permanently deleting footage of them saying something in the heat of the moment to a GM on a phone call that again, they don’t know is being recorded by HBO.

Wonder if a lot of these GMs will share the information from the interviews with other GMs.

The team knows way ahead of time about Hard Knocks. Obviously if anything is being recorded there has to be an agreement beforehand. Also we barely even got any info during the phone calls and a ton has to be edited for these episodes.

I’ll take this over the tired and run down training camp where every week we have to pretend the preseason games actually matter. Going through the draft and free agency is way more interesting and hope we get a bit more depth and more details next time. Admittedly it’ll be difficult to get too much more access for trade/free agency negations. We basically just saw the done deals.
