Warner Bros. Pictures unveiled the first trailer for his Horizon: An American Saga on Monday. The epic — which star Costner, 69, also directed and co-wrote — spans two films that will both hit theaters this summer.

Per a synopsis, Horizon "explores the lure of the Old West and how it was won — and lost — through the blood, sweat and tears of many."

"Spanning the four years of the Civil War, from 1861 to 1865, Costner’s ambitious cinematic adventure will take audiences on an emotional journey across a country at war with itself, experienced through the lens of families, friends and foes all attempting to discover what it truly means to be the United States of America," the synopsis adds.

I'm in. Looks fantastic but portraying the native Americans as hostile and violent is going to rumple some feathers.

I meet a guy in Colorado this summer who has a small speaking part in this. He has one scene with Costner. He has done some bit parts and a lot of extra work. He said the whole production was first rate and Costner was very nice. I'm looking forward to watching this just to catch that scene.

I'd be very surprised if it's that hardline and certainly don't expect anything along the lines of John Ford, particularly after his experience with Dances With Wolves

Can't wait. It's also why he left Yellowstone because he told Sheridan he was going to shoot this and told him he could only give him 1 week to film the final 6 episodes and he wanted the full season pay.

I wish they could have just filmed an ending for John Dutton

I feel like someone who posted here said they met him and he was very nice as well. Could have been on social media though.

He seems pretty genuine, down to earth, and loves America.

You think you're winnin' this game? You don't even know the goddamned rules. But don't worry, I'm gonna teach 'em to ya.

Sound promising. Glad to see him playing a real Westerner again instead of John Dutton…who got more stale with each passing season.

This looks awesome. Right up my alley. Can't wait to see it on the big screen.
