I was on a Wikipedia trail this morning and saw that Elizabeth Olsen is about to be in a series called “Love and Death” about Candy Montgomery murdering her lover’s wife with an axe. I didn’t know anything about it but looked up the Wikipedia article about it.

At the “portrayal in film” section it says:
The real lady:
What possesses these studios to try and do the exact same thing? I know the whole concept of script shopping and the black list (Deep Impact/Armageddon, Dante’s Peak/Volcano, Olympus has fallen/White House down, etc.) but this is a 40+ year old story about a lady who murdered one person. Why is there urgency to have 2 series and millions of dollars commissioned at the same time?
I guess I could also throw out the 2 FyreFest documentaries and then the WeWork documents followed immediately by WeCrashed.

HBO will be better.
No doubt. I can honestly say the only Hulu series I’ve ever liked was “Only Murders in the building.”
But I still ask “why?”
It’s not that interesting of a murder case and definitely not interesting enough to solicit 2 series.

I think the Netflix one was better marketed but Hulu’s was better.
