I See You (2019)

This movie is streaming on Netflix, and we watched it on Saturday night. I won't say too much about it, but I'm not sure I've ever seen a movie switch gears so successfully and make you think so differently about the first half of the movie you just watched. Plotline got a little confusing, but damn, what a job by the director. The score was fantastic as well. Anyone else watch this?

One question. Is this a horror movie or just a thriller/suspense? I am not about demonic or ghost stuff but I love a good suspense movie.

Yes. It was on Prime not too long ago. Me and the wife watched it and was surprised how much we like it. TBH, after the first scene, I was thinking this movie was a different genre than it was, if that makes sense.

Thriller/suspense. Slow burn.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. I've watched films before that had a change in POV, but never like this. It was very well done. The reveal of the villain left me with some questions, but overall, it was a very good suspense/psychological thriller.

Spoiler…. Helen Hunt has not aged well.

It was jarring seeing her. Stretched skin over a skull

I really enjoyed it. Loved the supernatural vibe that was later explained by reality.

She looks like a barn owl. She was actually pretty affective in making the movie more creepy just by the way she looks. I feel super mean in saying that but damn.

I haven’t seen her in anything in a while. I was wondering if that was makeup. Looked like she had those smokers wrinkles around her mouth :gag:

I watched it last night and was thoroughly intrigued until I fell asleep with about 45 minutes left. I woke up at the absolute worst time to see how it played out at the very end

Watched the other night and enjoyed it. Made the wife watch the next night and it was better second time catching everything I missed the first time. The reveal was a good twist. Basically 2 movie perspectives in one.
Helen Hunt could have played a Zombie. She hasn't aged well at all.

I watched it last night and was pleasantly surprised. It’s refreshing seeing movies that are a little different than the same ole shite you usually see nowadays.

Actually just watched the last half of the movie and more twists than I anticipated. Highly recommend this movie

Bad casting. She's too old have a teenager. She could be his grandmother.

She never quit smoking, or if she did, it was way too late.

Probably. Her kid from As Good as it Gets is in his mid 30s now.

Thanks for the recommendation. I just watched it. It was really good.
I liked the story and plot but I could quibble about some of the filming. I remain confused by the sporadic and inconsistent use of the gossamer lens effect. Also the score was overly dramatic at times.
Helen Hunt has had some bad cosmetic surgery. Her face showed no emotion and seemed incapable of it.
