Interview with the Vampire is a surprisingly good show.

I didn't have high hopes for this but what a good job they did.

I've read the Vampire Chronicles and although liberties have been taken, the show holds true to the tone and tenor of the book. Also, the dialogue is excellent and they nailed Lestat.

My hope is that we soon see a TV version of The Vampire Lestat, which is actually a much better book and a much more sweeping story.

When they changed the setting to satisfy casting, I said, "No thanks."

I get it. It works though and works well.

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

The witch show is very good.

What did they change?

Louis and Claudia's race. They're creole.

In literature, Louis is a white plantation owner and Claudia is a poor, diseased white girl. The show is set however in early 20th century New Orleans. With that in mind, they turned both Louis and Claudia into black creoles.
