There’s a lot of bloat throughout but the last two episodes should have just been left out altogether. They add absolutely nothing.

There are alot of things in that series that added absolutely nothing. The tranny sex scene x2 added absolutely nothing to the story. And it's not just because it was tranny, I think there are way too many sex scenes (hetero, tranny, etc) that add nothing in very many movies/shows. Just show them kiss and kick off their shoes, and cut. We get it. We don't need to see them pulsing in and out of each other for 5 minutes.

The lawyer also got less and less believable as the series progressed. When he finally gives in and lets the writer get discovery files, I have to wonder if that actually happened. No way he'd admit that, he'd be disbarred. But he quit the law before this movie was made so maybe he did do it and did admit to actually doing it to the producers because he didn't care anymore.

Other things that didn't add to the story- the multiple hits on Trump. I don't care if you love or hate Trump, but what exactly did that have anything to do with the story line? Absolutely nothing. I know as a middle aged white male that I'm not the target demo for this series, but it sure was annoying. And on that note, the constant "It's a Man's World" stuff was also irritating. If this were set in the 80's or earlier, it would be relevant to the story line. In 2017, sorry, wrong. Poor little rich girl can't get a loan because she's a woman... no, poor little rich girl can't get a loan because she can't prove any collateral. Banks don't give a frick what is between your legs or the color of your skin or who you frick.

There was another weird scene with the banking guy, where he tells his buddy this could be a $200 million annual revenue project, on a $40m loan? Some of the financial stuff in the storyline didn't add up.

You think the average Netflix viewer, or American is going to catch that?

Show was good up until episode 5 or so then it went down hill for me.

7,8,9 were bad. Real bad.

I liked the series overall, but thought at times it had absolutely pointless Trump comments. It’s Shonda Rhimes so the virtual signaling was clearly going to be there, but it was terrible pandering.

I absolutely loathed Rachel and Neff, and Vivian was lame too. Honestly Anna was the only somewhat sympathetic one because it was clear she needed mental help, at least from this series portrayal, no clue the real story. Vivian’s husband and Todd were both absolute simps.

I avoided spoilers and was an enjoyable show overall.

Shonda Rimes, another person who got rich and famous in the only country that would allow it, then dumps on it and the real people who make it work.

Her shows are silly but unfortunately there is an audience who eats it up...likely the same people who watched Oprah and The View.

Here’s my thing with her. She’s genuinely talented. Her shows have obviously had a ton of success. Outside of a bit of Scandal, none of it is my cup of tea.

Her success is not because of black people. Basic white women have made her rich and famous. And that’s totally OK. Congrats to her career and being a wonderful example of the American dream.

If there’s a case for the meritocracy and white peoples’ accepting and celebrating somebody because of their abilities and talents, she’s the PERFECT example. I’d wager that 50% of the people that watched Grey’s Anatomy had no idea it was created and written by a black woman. And they didn’t care.

Yeah I’ve enjoyed a bunch of the shows she has made up to a certain point. They drag on way too long and become ridiculous. My biggest issue is she is an actual legit example of putting in pandering/virtual signaling plots and dialogue that is unnecessary. In IA there was no need for probably 99% of the Trump comments. It’s been a while since I’ve watched Scandal and HTGAWM but I know they had moments in there too that caused me to roll my eyes.

I love awkward expository legal conversations the succession guy has with his wife

Bailed after the 3rd episode

Boring AF, fake people, and that awful accent was more than I could handle

what's funny is that the chick that Anna Chlumsky (sp?) is playing wasn't that hateable and actually has a few big stories to her name IRL.

the people she worked with were caricatures of what i feel like most media is though.

"go run the #metoo of wall street story"

"you're just exploiting them and making them relive it."

"it's for their own good (and our clicks.)"

I am normally a sucker for a good news room drama, All the presidents men, Zodiac, Spotlight, ect and hell i even liked The Wire season 5.

The show lost me when it took two episodes for the writer to check Anna's instagram. Wouldn't that be the first think you would do when investigating a young socialite?

Every hamfisted Trump reference was brutal, like the lady not wanting to turn a German in during "Trump's America" or how they act like being a female writer in 2017 is more difficult than being Peggy from Mad Men

Then somehow at the end they are all rooting for Anna, makes zero sense. Why is the lawyer tossing his marriage with his rich smoke wife? The short black chick might have been the worst written character ever. Nothing about her character makes sense.

The best explanation I can come up with is they were trying to show just how strong Anna's reality distortion field was. There was absolutely no reason for the lawyer to not go on vacation, or the reporter to be as invested as she was. I can see her thinking she didn't deserve 15 years, but she acted like the OT acts when you post a mug shot of a pretty girl, Not Guilty.

it is weird to say this because the show was 4 hours too long but they didn't build that up at all.

All of a sudden in the last episode she is some robin hood figure that was only trying to steal from evil banks and the white men don't get punished for their role.

I hate sounding like such a snowflake but the show was that on the noose.

We finished it up last night. This show should have been 6 episodes tops. It was really good subject and the leads were all excellent. It was just too long and the filler was just awful. There was nothing story wise that got served in the last episode especially.

This is the most excruciating piece of shite I’ve ever seen.

I am hating literally every second of this and it’s episode 3.

What a mess. The characters are just the absolute worst. The story is told beyond shitty. The rap soundtrack makes no sense for the show. And that accent. frick.

Just the goddamn worst.
