Is Mayor of Kingstown worth watching?

Ive had a few people recommend it to me. I looked it up and was surprised at the descrepency between user reviews and critics.
It has a 32% on RT and many pan it, yet it has a 8.2 on IMBD from thousands of users, which is very strong.
I normally love Sheridan but Yellowstone S4 sucked IMO. Is this more like Sicario, Wind River, early Yellowstone, or Yellowstone S4?

For TV shows on IMDB, thats decent. Unlike movies, there are a lot of shows with an 8.5 or higher
But I'm also interested in the responses. I've thought about watching it as well

the wife and i have enjoyed it. it's different, but we like it.

it's poorly written and you have to suspend common sense like its science fiction to account for the lazy storyboard

Anyone else always get confused when they see the title of this show and think of Mare of Easttown?

nope, only the stripper scenes are worth watching, the rest will make you wish you didnt watch it.

Mayor of Kingstown is OK. Lot of gun violence and some nudity. Its not one I have to binge watch.

I recommend you watch it if you know what it is going into it. It’s more like Prison Break or second half run of 24, or to a lesser extent House of Cards post season 1. It’s well made and has aspirations to being “prestige” but has such an over the top plot and premise that it’s really bad if you view it in that context.
But if you just take it as Jeremy Renner being like the Frank Underwood of prisons and guards, it’s quite entertaining in a trashy kind of way.

The only interesting character didn't last long...at all...George R.R. Martin would be proud.
